WHAT: Presentation of 20 computers to be distributed between the 3 libraries and 5
Child Development Centers on Camp Pendleton.

WHO: Donated through the Technology Training Foundation of America (TTFA), a statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide through free donations of high-quality computers and peripherals through its Computer Refurbishing Program. The program also provides hands-on computer training for state and federal inmates and the opportunity to exness demo account mt4 give back to communities useful technology, saving California taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

Corporate sponsor: Through the generous corporate sponsorship of Wells Fargo Foundation, TTFA is able to make this computer donation possible.

Attendance at the presentation will include representatives from the Technology Training Foundation, Camp Pendleton’s Child Development Centers and Libraries, Well’s Fargo Foundation, and elected officials from the north county area.

WHY: To provide needed technology giving the military families the ability to email their loved ones who are away serving our Country and to give the children of our Marine families access to the necessary tools to gain skills that will allow them to compete in our technological world.

BACKGROUND: For more than four years, TTFA has given refurbished computers to San Diego County area school children non-profit organizations and programs in need. Private industries, state exness.net.in/demo-account and federal agencies and individual donors provide computer equipment to the program. They are then refurbished by one of TTFA’s computer refurbishing partner programs. The computers that can be brought up to technology standards to meet the needs of the recipients are donated free of charge. Equipment that cannot be brought up to minimum technology standards is recycled through one of TTFA’s recycling partners, keeping it out of our already over-crowded landfills. TTFA has donated over 5,000 computers and has kept over a million and a half pounds of e-waste out of our landfills.

Oceanside Middle SCHOOL TO RECEIVE 30 COMPUTERS

WHAT: The Technology Training Foundation of America will give away 30 Pentium II and greater multi-media computers that have been refurbished and upgraded, to Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Oceanside, CA.

WHEN: Friday, February 28, 2003 at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, 1290 Ivey Ranch Road, Oceanside, CA 92057

WHO: The Technology Training Foundation of America (TTFA), a statewide non-profit organization based in San Diego County, whose mission is to bridge the digital divide by providing high-quality computers and peripherals free of charge to California public schools and non-profit organizations, will assist a north county middle school in need of computers. The donated computers are refurbished through the Consolidated Brig MCAS Miramar’s Computer Refurbishing Program, providing hands-on computer training for federal prison inmates and an opportunity for them to give useful technology to public schools, saving schools and taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
The computers are all high end Pentium IIs and greater. This donation represents a $21,000 to $30,000 cost savings to Oceanside Unified School District at a time when the district is experiencing major state and federal funding cuts.
Representatives from TTFA, Martin Luther King Middle School, Oceanside Unified School District, the Consolidated Brig MCAS Miramar and elected representatives will be at the presentation.

SACRAMENTO AREA SCHOOLS TO RECEIVE 1,500 COMPUTERS


WHAT: The Technology Training Foundation of America and the California Department of Corrections will give away 1,500 refurbished computers to the Sacramento City Unified School District, the Robla School District and the Grant Joint Union High School District.

WHEN: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Edward Kemble Elementary School, 7495 29th Street in Sacramento.

WHO: The Department of Corrections and the Technology Training Foundation of America (TTFA), a statewide non-profit organization, have partnered to bridge the digital divide by providing high-quality computers and peripherals free of charge to California public schools. The donated computers are refurbished through the Department of Corrections' Computer Refurbishing Program, providing hands-on computer training for state prison inmates and an opportunity for them to give useful technology to public schools, saving schools and taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

Nissan North America, Raley's supermarkets, and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control donated retired computers for this project.

Representatives from TTFA, the Department of Corrections, equipment donor companies, the school districts receiving the donated computers and elected representatives will be at the presentation.

Through computer donation partnerships, the Department of Corrections has helped place more than 88,000 computers into public schools statewide since 1994 at no cost to the recipients.
